Inflation Reduction Act: What it means to you

Writer: Shreya R.Shreya R.

In August, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law. The Inflation Reduction Act is the biggest climate bill in U.S. history. The IRA allocates around $370 billion over ten years to invest in renewable energy, make EVs more affordable, address climate inequities, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help mitigate the climate crisis. There is more in the bill in the form of new credits to help households be more efficient or switch to clean energy. These will make it more affordable for everyone to install things like rooftop solar, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, heat pump dryers, induction stoves, insulation, and new windows. We interview Lisa Danz from the Citizen's Climate Lobby, Fremont who discusses the salient features of the bill and also the work CCL has done.

CCL is also celebrating an October Earth Day on October 22nd at Lake Elizabeth in Fremont. See more details here and join them in their Walk & Talk about the Climate
